# How Elevate A/B Testing Tracks Data

How Elevate A/B Testing tracks Shopify visitors and orders without manual theme code, with links to the Liquid snippet and web pixel pages.

Elevate A/B Testing sets up experiment tracking on your Shopify store automatically when you install it. You do not need to add scripts to your theme by hand.

### What each tracking component does

| Component             | What it does                                                                                                     |
| --------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Liquid snippet        | Added to your theme's `<head>`. Assigns each visitor to a variation and delivers the experiment.                 |
| Shopify server events | Records visitors, page views, add to carts, and checkouts for the main results of every new experiment.          |
| Web pixel             | Records clicks, custom events, and custom metrics, and the results of experiments launched before server events. |
| Shopify orders        | The source of orders and revenue in every experiment.                                                            |
