Price Testing - Getting Started
Learn how Price Testing can optimize your store's pricing strategy for maximum revenue.
Price testing lets you run controlled experiments with different price points on your products, using real visitors and real purchases. Instead of guessing what prices will work, you test them — and Elevate tells you exactly which prices maximize your revenue, conversion rate, or profit.
How Does Price Testing Work?
Elevate splits your visitors between your current price and one or more test prices. Each group of visitors sees a different price for the same product, and Elevate tracks how each price point performs across conversions, revenue, average order value, and more.
The Elevate theme extension applies the test price on the storefront, and the price is carried through to checkout — so visitors see a consistent price from product page to purchase. There are no duplicate products to manage, no extra URLs, and no reviews to copy.
Once enough data is collected, the Bayesian statistical model identifies which price is the winner — giving you a data-backed answer instead of a gut feeling. For details on how results are evaluated, see Statistical Significance.
What You Need
The Elevate theme extension — installed and enabled on your active theme. This is what applies the test price to visitors on the storefront.

Want to Test More Than Price?
Price testing changes only the price. If you want to test other product attributes — different titles, descriptions, images, or full alternative offers — use Product Testing instead. Product testing lets you compare entirely different versions of a product side-by-side using duplicate products.
